  1. v1.2.0

    Latest

    A new look

    New
    • A new look, the same as the Android app: on a phone the screens, colours and cards match it, and on a computer the pages use the whole width.
    • Pin or unpin a shoot straight from the Shoots list.
    • Duplicate a frame in one tap from the shoot page.
    • Choose a light, dark or system theme from the Profile page.
    Improved
    • Redesigned sign in and sign up pages: one simple card, with "Forgot password?" next to the password field and passkey sign in below.
    • Folders on the Shoots page start collapsed, and the ones you open stay open while you use the app.
    • Shoot notes now have their own card under the shoot details, and shoot cards in the list no longer show them.
    • On a computer, a frame page uses the full width, with "Add a location" and "Add notes" boxes when the frame has none.
    • The weather on a frame is bigger, and the weather picker shows an icon for each condition.
    • The frame form shows every field at once, without collapsed sections.
    • The Profile page is a single column, easier to find your way around.
    • Clicking outside a window now closes it.
    • What's new no longer pops up when you open the app: find it on the Profile page.
    Fixed
    • Zooming in on the shutter speed or aperture dial now snaps to the usual values, so you can always get back to 1/125.
  2. v1.1.1

    Quicker frames

    New
    • A new frame now starts with the lens, weather, filter and exposure of the previous frame in the shoot, so you can save it right away and only change what is different.
  3. v0.11.0

Faster shoots, clearer forms, and many fixes

    New
    • When your email address is changed, your previous address now gets a notice, so you know if it was not you.
    Improved
    • The Shoots page now loads more shoots as you scroll, and search looks through all of your shoots.
    • Forms now show what needs fixing under each field when you try to save, including names made only of spaces.
    • Editing or deleting an item in Settings updates the list in place, without reloading it or losing your scroll position.
    • When a page fails to load, you now see what went wrong and a Retry button instead of an empty page.
    • After an update, an open tab switches to the new version on your next click instead of breaking.
    • Importing a backup with "wipe before import" now asks for confirmation and shows what will be replaced.
    • Each page now has its own title in your browser tab, and screen readers announce more buttons and states clearly.
    Fixed
    • Filter compensation is now a number of stops between 0 and 10, and filter labels show the right sign.
    • The folder menu on the Shoots page now opens with the keyboard, several folders can be open at once, and saving a folder no longer expands all of them.
    • Pressing Edit on a shoot that was still loading no longer creates a new shoot.
    • Signing in without a connection now shows a clear network error, and you no longer see the same error message twice.
    • Going back from a shoot or frame that no longer exists no longer sends you to the "not found" page again.
    • Refining a location on the map now shows the new coordinates, and a failed map load no longer saves a default position.
  4. v0.10.0

Password reset, email changes, and fixes

    New
    • You can now reset your password from the sign-in page. We email you a link to choose a new one.
    • You can now change your email address and display name from your account page. A new email address is confirmed with a link sent to it.
    Improved
    • When editing a frame, you can now clear its aperture, shutter speed, filter, or location.
    • The import window no longer offers the 'Create the exported account' option, which could not work.
    • The app loads faster and downloads much less data on your first visit.
    • Importing a backup now keeps which shoots were completed or pinned, and when they were created.
    • Lens and weather choices in the new-frame wizard now work with the keyboard.
    Fixed
    • Adding a weather condition no longer requires a description.
    • You can now create a film, ISO, or weather condition with a name someone else already uses. Names are now unique per account, and adding a duplicate shows a clear message.
    • Settings lists now show the real total count.
    • The location map preview in the new-frame wizard shows up again.
    • Exports now always include every shoot and frame, and the ISOs of your custom films, so restoring a backup works reliably.
    • Deleting a frame no longer changes the order of the other frames in the shoot.
    • Editing a film or a camera without changing its ISO or film format no longer fails to save.
    • Switching the map style in the location picker keeps your position and label, and a location label can now be cleared.
    • Your unsaved profile edits are no longer reset when you come back to the tab.
  5. v0.9.0

    Precision dials and folder deletion

    New
    • You can now delete a folder from its menu on the Shoots page. The shoots inside it are kept and simply moved out of the folder.
    • The aperture and shutter speed dials have a precision mode. Tap the crosshair next to the value to zoom the dial in and pick values between the usual 1/3-stop marks. Exposures of one second or longer step in half seconds.
    Improved
    • Outside precision mode, the aperture and shutter speed dials now always land exactly on a marked 1/3-stop value, and small trackpad scrolls are no longer lost.
    Fixed
    • The Light and Dark map styles now use a different map provider, so they load reliably again.
  6. v0.8.1

New folders show up right away

    Fixed
    • Folders you create now appear on the Shoots page straight away. Empty folders used to be hidden until you added a shoot to them, which made it look like folder creation had failed.
  7. v0.8.0

Clear all frames in one tap

    New
    • You can now wipe every frame from a shoot at once. Open a shoot and use the "Clear all" button next to "Add frame" - a confirmation step keeps you from clearing frames by accident.
  8. v0.7.3

    A fresh look for RollNote

    Improved
    • RollNote has a new look - a custom mark shaped like a 35mm film canister with an aperture iris. You will see it on the browser tab, the app icon when you install RollNote to your home screen, and on link previews when you share the app.
  9. v7.2.1

Privacy, legal notice, and a fix for deleting your account

    Improved
    • The privacy policy and a new legal notice on the marketing site are now accurate about analytics, session data, hosting, and how account deletion works. Sign-up now asks you to confirm you have read them.
    Fixed
    • Deleting your account now actually goes through. It used to fail silently when you had any shoots or frames - the deletion now wipes all your owned content first, then removes the account.
  10. v7.1.0

Duplicate a frame in one tap

    New
    • Every frame card now has a copy icon top-right, and the frame detail page has one in the header. Tap it to clone the frame settings, notes, and location into the same shoot - handy for bracketing or planning a reshoot.
  11. v7.0.0

New aperture and shutter speed dials

    New
    • Aperture is now picked on a ring slider styled like a real lens engraving - drag, tap, or scroll. The full range from f/0.7 to f/45 is on a single dial with every 1/3-stop marked.
    • Shutter speed gets the same treatment - a horizontal dial with the modern camera scale (1/8000 up to 120 seconds, plus B for bulb). The shutter speed settings tab is gone; you no longer need to manage a list of values.
    Improved
    • Frames now store shutter speed as a real duration with a separate Bulb flag, instead of a label tied to a list. Existing frames carry their value over.
  12. v6.2.0

    Sturdier under the hood

    Improved
    • Editing equipment now sends only the fields you changed instead of the whole record - smaller updates, fewer surprises.
    • Deleting a camera, lens, filter or weather preset now unlinks it from past frames and shoots automatically, instead of refusing because the gear is still referenced.
    Fixed
    • Updates and deletes for items that have already gone away now report cleanly with a 404 instead of pretending the operation worked.
  13. v6.1.0

See your shots on a map

    New
    • When adding or editing a frame, the spot where you took it now shows on a map - auto-detected from your device, or picked manually if location is off.
  14. v6.0.0

    Goodbye image uploads

    Improved
    • Frame image uploads have been retired. Frames no longer carry an attached photo - keep your scans wherever you already store them.
  15. v5.0.1

    Tidier shoots

    Improved
    • Cleaner shoot list cards. Less clutter, more breathing room, and a small green check next to the name when a shoot is done.
    • On the shoot detail page, pin and done are now quiet chip toggles below the title. The top right keeps just edit and delete.
  16. v5.0.0

    Cleaner frames and versioned releases

    New
    • Changelog entries can now carry a version label (like v5.0.0), shown above the date so each release is easy to spot.
    Improved
    • ISO is no longer set per frame - it lives on the shoot, where it belongs. Existing frame ISOs are preserved on the parent shoot when possible.
  17. Frame location manual edit

    New
    • You can now edit the frame location by selecting a specific point on a map.
    • Added this changelog !

  18. Pin & done for shoots

    New
    • You can now mark a shoot as done to find it better. If you want you can also pin a shoot to keep it at the top of the list.
